Step Right in
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
Jason Norris, fiddle and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
Give me all your bleedin’ time
Work me like a Jubilee Diamond Mine
You found me hiding in a chicken coop
With a hungry fox and your daddy’s boots
Tease me, tell me we’ll still be friends
Leave me, do it all over again
Won’t you climb on up to the water tower
Watch the sun break through the darkest hour
You come walkin’ in with your sideways grin
And I can see the trouble you’re gettin’ me in
But I can’t help it
I say, step right in
Shake me like a fire in the wind
Take me some place I never been
Don’t you spend your time with the door shut tight
Sittin’ in the middle of paradise
You come walkin’ in with your sideways grin
And I can see the trouble you’re gettin’ me in
But I can’t help it
I say, step right in
Squeeze me, lay my body down
Tease me, drop me back on the ground
I feel just like a beat up truck
Runnin’ on fumes and a little luck
You come walkin’ in with your sideways grin
And I can see the trouble you’re gettin’ me in
But I can’t help it
I say, step right in
You come walkin’ in with your sideways grin
And I can see the trouble you’re gettin’ me in
But I can’t help it
I say, step right in
A Thousand Little Lies
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
Whose tracks are in the driveway
What’s that smell on your clothes
Why won’t you ever talk to me
We used to be close
There’s something in the air
I can feel it in my bones
I’m the ghost of man
A stranger in my home
It’s not the years I’ve lost to you
It’s not those desperate fights
It’s not your eyes have turned to black
From tender rays of light
It’s not the leaving lonely cry
That keeps me up at night
It’s running through and adding up
A thousand little lies
Thoughts and denials
Something isn’t right
A weekend out of town
Another late night
Did you tell him that you loved him
Then crawl in bed with me
Did he shake my hand and smile
Did you watch me nervously
It’s not the years I’ve lost to you
It’s not those desperate fights
It’s not your eyes have turned to black
From tender rays of light
It’s not the leaving lonely cry
That keeps me up at night
It’s running through and adding up
A thousand little lies
Hush these haunted visions
Hush my wicked mind
Still my inhibitions
I’m stepping off the line
Walk around the corner babe
Sleep with one eye on
It’s either you or me
And I might be moving on
It’s not the years I’ve lost to you
It’s not those desperate fights
It’s not your eyes have turned to black
From tender rays of light
It’s not the leaving lonely cry
That keeps me up at night
It’s running through and adding up
A thousand little lies
A thousand little lies
A thousand little lies
Fly Away Waltz
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
Jason Norris, mandolin and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
I’ll buy a plane
I can learn how to fly
I’ll fly away from here
You’ll never see me cry
Been battered before
But the wind’s at my back
I’ll leave only the sky for my track
Your smile’s like the sun
On a cold winter day
But it melts my heart
Like a river in the spring
Been battered before
But the wind’s at my back
I’ll leave only the sky for my track
The blossoms and the blooms
They grow through the past
The swans fly back home
And they scatter just as fast
Been battered before
But the wind’s at my back
I’ll leave only the sky for my track
I’ll buy a plane
I can learn how to fly
I’ll fly away from here
You’ll never see me cry
Been battered before
But the wind’s at my back
I’ll leave only the sky for my track
Who Does The Sun Shine For
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
Jason Norris, mandolin and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums and tambourine
Who does the sun shine for
It ain’t for me, naw
It ain’t for me
When I was young
I had something worth fighting for
Don’t matter anymore
It walked out on me
Won’t you hold me and help me make it through all these years
I need someone to hold my hand through all these tears
There’s nothing waiting for me at the end of this life
So won’t you be the one to help me make it through the night
Tell me who does the sun shine for
It ain’t for me, naw
It ain’t for me
Happiness
Looks just like a rainbow
Shining even though
It ain’t shining for me
Blood and bones
They wash into the sea
Sell my soul for free
It don’t belong to me
Won’t you hold me and help me make it through all these years
I need someone to hold my hand through all these tears
There’s nothing waiting for me at the end of this life
So won’t you be the one to help me make it through the night
Tell me who does the sun shine for
It ain’t for me, naw
It ain’t for me
Tell me who does the sun shine for
It ain’t for me, naw
It ain’t for me
Tell me who does the sun shine for
It ain’t for me, naw
It ain’t for me
Don't Run
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
Jason Norris, mandolin
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
I’m all alone on this crowded street
Hands in the air and shoes on my feet
38 Special pointed through my soul
400 years old
Branches bend from the weight of the ropes
Poor souls whose bloody feet were their only source of hope
Faces ain’t the same, faces always change
Here I stand all the same
Did I tell my brother?
Did I tell my son?
Don’t run
Don’t run
I heard the whispers, I saw the tears
I heard the mamas begging year after year
This ain’t about what’s right and what is wrong
It’s about coming home when it’s done
Did I tell my brother?
Did I tell my son?
Don’t run
Don’t run
An empty matchbook and some smoke they found
After the bullets flew and my body hit the ground
Riots on the street, Holder on the phone
Each one comes then he’s gone
Did I tell my brother?
Did I tell my son?
Don’t run
Don’t run
Go tell me brother
Go tell my son
Don’t run
Don’t run
Don’t run
Don’t run
May the Song Be Sung
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and vocals
Jason Norris, mandolin, fiddle, and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
Just a smoke and a kiss on a night like this
The harp blowin’ that low and muddy tone
And the strings were keepin’ time and you were by my side
The one night I weren’t alone
Now night is into day and there’s nothing left to say
You turned your back and dropped me on my knees
I can’t eat and I can’t sleep for your heart I’ll never keep
But I’ll stand up lest your good gal should see
May the song be sung for the words unsaid
And the tune raise my soul to the sky
Well I’ll walk my lonesome road ahead
Till I’m carried to my home on high
Next time I catch your eye I’ll wave my last goodbye
And walk into the Mighty Su to die
When I take my last breath your name will leave my chest
And I’ll wait for us to meet by and by
May the song be sung for the words unsaid
And the tune raise my soul to the sky
Well I’ll walk my lonesome road ahead
Till I’m carried to my home on high
Till I’m carried to my home on high
Nowhere To Go
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
Jason Norris, fiddle, mandolin, and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
The trees are drunk from the weight of their coats
The sun’s low on the line like a big can of coke
Well I ain’t seen blue skies since I seen something float
And you’re just standing there holding a smoke
Come on inside you’ve got nowhere to go
Quit all your fussin’ it’s time to let go
I’ll light a fire you can pick out the show
Again and again
Sometimes I talk to much, sometimes I lie
Sometimes I miss you when the sandhills fly by
But right from the get-go darlin’ you were all fight
And you’re just standing there finger held high
Come on inside you’ve got nowhere to go
Quit all your fussin’ it’s time to let go
I’ll light a fire you heat up the stove
Again and again
I like a warm house and you in my bed
I love you right now till the day I am dead
But I can’t keep hanging round while you’re seeing red
And you’re still standing there shaking your head
Come on inside you’ve got nowhere to go
Quit all your fussin’ it’s time to let go
I’ll light a fire you can pack up a bowl
Again and again
Let's Get Drunk At Home
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
Jason Norris, fiddle and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
You know I love those honky tonks
And those jumping juke joints
That dive on Mississippi
Don’t ever disappoint
No matter how much I love
To shuffle and a-roam
Honey let’s stay in tonight
And get drunk at home
Pass that old green bottle
Right over here
With every glass I drink
I love you more my dear
I’m feeling a little tipsy
You’re singing in my ear
Turn up that Neil Young
We got a dance floor right here
Careful with those spins and dips
That whiskey’s coming through
Before I know it babe
I’m running to the loo
Pass that green bottle
Right over here
With every glass I drink
I love you more my dear
You know I love those honky tonks
And those jumping juke joints
That dive on Mississippi
Don’t ever disappoint
No matter how much I love
To shuffle and a-roam
Honey let’s stay in tonight
And get drunk at home
Fresh Regrets
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
I can feel the heat on my face
The sun is finally out
It’s been cold and dark
And I’ve been hiding out
The winter suits my mood
All this daylight got me blue
Don’t know how to be with you
No matter what I do
Leave me alone
But please don’t go
I can’t talk
But I want you to know
I’m waiting for the darkness to come
Today won’t be undone
There’s nothing quite as lonesome
As a fresh regret
As a fresh regret
I told myself
It’s gonna be a brand new time
I’d do the right thing
And I’d toe the line
But something inside of breaks
When you get that look on your face
I wrestle with my fate
For another day
Leave me alone
But please don’t go
I can’t talk
But I want you to know
I’m waiting for the darkness to come
Today won’t be undone
There’s nothing quite as lonesome
As a fresh regret
As a fresh regret
Why won’t you look at me
Pretending that you can’t see
There’s nothing that I can be
Makes right what you’ve seen
Leave me alone
But please don’t go
I can’t talk
But I want you to know
I’m waiting for the darkness to come
Today won’t be undone
There’s nothing quite as lonesome
As a fresh regret
As a fresh regret
As a fresh regret
No Consequence To Truth
Caitlin Frye, vocals and acoustic guitar
Jeremiah Bakken, electric guitar and vocals
George Gianakopoulos, upright bass
Josh Paul, drums
Well you’re due into town
About a quarter past now
You’ll walk in the door
And you’ll call me a whore
And I’ll say settle down
Oh you’re due into town
It wasn’t like he said
Like a blow to the head
Some dope in my drink
I couldn’t bear it to think
I woke up in his bed
It wasn’t like he said
Whoa I know that you want proof
But like those who went before me know
My pain is of no consequence to truth
You’re gonna cut down my code
Why was I wearing those clothes
Too many drinks
And why did I think
I could go out alone
Wearing those clothes
Poison in my blood
Through my heart like a flood
On an island of shame
With only me to blame
For what somebody else done
Poison in my blood
Whoa I know that you want proof
But like those who went before me know
My pain is of no consequence to truth
The walls are moving in
Starting in to spin
The floorboards creak
The doorknob squeaks
Speaking to my sins
And you’re walking in
